Garden Roots Weekend: May 23 and 24th ~A very special weekend of gardening. Join us to celebrate New England's unique agricultural heritage and garden roots.
Of course all of our great plants will be for sale, but it's a great weekend for hanging out, connecting with the Stillman's family, talking with other gardeners, and his hopefully learning a little more about the gardening that interests you. Saturday 23rd
Saturday 10 a.m. ~Tomatoes 101: Glenn will talk about how to select, start and grow tomatoes. Naturally he'll share his favorite varieties as well as tips and tricks for your successful garden. A free tomato plant for all participants (our choice)!
Saturday 11:30 ~ Plant your own Hanging Tomato and Herb Garden: You've seen ads on TV for hanging tomato gardens...well all you need is a 5 gallon bucket and a drill. We'll demonstrate how to make your own hanging garden with tomatoes, herbs, and greens. If you bring your bucket - we'll even drill the holes in it!
Saturday 1:00 ~ Vegetable Gardening for Success and Independence:
Concerned about your food supply? Teaching your kids about self sufficiency or good economy? Planning a veggie garden this summer- maybe your first? No matter the reason, join us for a lesson on the "how to" of veggie gardening, including site selection, bed preparation, variety selection and maintenance.
Saturday 2 p.m. ~Container Workshop: bring your own container or containers and pot them up yourself. We'll start the workshop with a few minutes of demonstration to get you started and then will be available for assistance selecting the perfect annuals, perennials and herbs for your pot. We'll provide the soil, and you pay for only the plants you use and leave the mess here! All plant materials 10% off!
Saturday 3:30 p.m. ~ What's New for 2008: Sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the latest in the plant world. Take a brief walking tour to see what's new and exciting for 2008. We'll also give you some cultural information and a few ideas about how to use these plants.
