The Meat CSA:

Our farm is excited to offer our meats and poultry through our Meat CSA program.  Shares in the meat CSA are available in three different sizes: quarter, half or full and can be purchased for six or twelve month periods.  Shares are available for purchase year round, however we offer four different starting points: January, March, July and September.  Shares are pre-assembled at the farm and distributed monthly to our pick-up loactions. 

New!  Members' Discount: Our farm is now offering meat CSA members a 20% discount on meat purchases at our farmers' markets during their membership.  Details:This applies to all regular meat only purchases made at our farmers' markets by cash or check only.  The discount cannot be used for holiday and/or special requests/orders. 

Our Meats & Poultry:

Our farm offers conscientiously raised, grass-fed and pastured, hormone-free meats and poultry.  We believe in raising our animals in a manner that is humane and respectful, a respect that extends not only to our animals but to our land as well.  Our sustainable, more holistic approach to animal husbandry yields better tasting, safer, and more nutritious meats and poultry.
  This is our Conscientiously Grown philosophy.

What is in a share:

Shares in our Meat CSA consist of combination of beef, pork, lamb and chicken.  Monthly shares are pre-assembled by our farm to include approximately half ground and stew cuts and approximately half higher-end cuts such as steaks and chops.   Chicken is included in the shares as whole birds.  Monthly pick-ups are assembled to include a variety of meats as well as different cuts, such that some monthly shares may include more or all pork and lamb selections, while other monthly shares may include more beef cuts and a chicken.  The meats and poultry included in the shares reflect what is available on the farm for that particular month and cannot be customized.  

How Meat CSA shares are Packaged & Distributed:

Shares in the meat CSA are distributed monthly.  Each share is pre-assmbled at the farm and delivered to members for pick-up at one of our three designated pick-up sites: Jamaica Plain, Brookline and Lunenburg.  Meats and Poultry included in the shares are vacuum-sealed and freshly processed and frozen by a certified USDA facility. Occaisonally, non-frozen cuts are included and can be used immediately within 1-4 days or placed in the freezer for later use.

Share Pick-Ups:

Meat CSA members are responsible for picking up their shares once a month at one of three designated locations.  Members must select the location they prefer to pick-up their monthly shares at.  A pick-up schedule, complete with dates and times is posted on our website.  Due to the nature of slaughterhouse schedules and issues outside our contro such as the weather, we occaisonally have to make changes to the pick-up schedule.   For this reason, we highly recomend and strongly suggest that members always check the pick-up schedule posted on our website to confirm their monthly pick-up before traveling to the CSA pick-up.

Meat shares are only available for pick-up at the designated pick-up sites on the dates listed on our pick-up schedule. Thank you for understanding that due to the perishable nature of meat, other accommodations are not available and alternate pickup days are not an option at this time. A monthly pick-up schedule is published every six months.

Share Size & Cost:

Meat CSA shares are available in quarter, half and full sizes for six or twelve month periods.  Share sizes are based on pounds per month.  Payment for the meat CSA is due in full by the start of the share subscription.
