We have some sad news at the Turkey Farm. In June of 2009, my husband Aidan decided he no longer wanted to run the farm. Fortunately, with the help of my family, I was able to carry on, fixing many of the problems that developed during his last year here. I intend to carry on farming, though, as most divorces go, I am not sure what will happen. Please know that I have been farming my entire life and am confident that I will continue to do so, regardless of this misfortune. So, in the meantime, all CSA commitments will be honored and I will continue to go to markets with my cut-flowers and meats. I will keep you posted.
Previously:
In the summer of 2006, my husband, Aidan,
and I purchased the historic “Turkey Farm” in Hardwick, MA, with the goal of
raising conscientiously-raised, grass-fed and pastured, chemical free meats and
poultry.
In 2008, we purchased our second farm, located just a short distance away on the opposite side of Hardwick with the goal of expanding our business and its production while enhancing the overall sustainability of our farm. We also were blessed with our baby boy, Trace, who will grow up as entrenched in farm life as I did.
The opportunity to continue
and add to our family’s rich farming tradition has
been tremendous. As a young farmer I am proud of my role in preserving open space and valuable agricultural
lands in Massachusetts, believing that I am an important piece of the
flourishing and dynamic local, sustainable food movement in the state.
I am incredibly excited to offer the
Stillman’s Farm community additional healthy, high quality, safe, and great
tasting food options!
